East side of the house. It's wrapped and ready for stucco and siding. The far area is the dining room. The closer area is the casual dining area.
The trials and tribulations of building a new home from the ground up. Literally, dirt to drywall - it will all be here. Pray for me. (And click on the ads below to help fund renovation - every little bit helps. Mama needs a new faucet, baby!)

Behold! The dirt hole! D'oh - I mean, the pool!
This is our new pool. Voila! The big corner of dirt is called a "Shamu Shelf." It's modeled after the shallow shelf area at Sea World that Shamu uses to pop up to the pool deck during shows. In light of the recent killer whale violence against humans trend, perhaps we call it a shallow shelf rather than invoke the name of a man-eating killer species. But you'll know what we mean.
Doggie door
The big hole is the doggie door in the garage. That may well by Tyson's new domain. Garage and doggie run.
Corner window
The boys stare out of Alex's room at the corner window. Not sure what the heck kind of window treatments we'll use there but the corner thing seemed cool at the time.
Outside the potty room
Sebastian is waiting in his future bedroom looking into the as-yet-unfinished bathroom.
From the street
This is the house from the street. It's shaping up! Today the pool started. More photos to come!

Day 366 - one year anniversary!
Today we are continuing our concrete pour to cover the radiant pipes. We have a tiny little punch list of items before rough inspections are done and then onto the finish work! All windows are in but we have one slider in the basement that isn't in yet. Also need a front door. Custom cabinets are being built, appliances are all purchased, tile are (almost!) all selected, lighting is all on order, wood stain colors are selected and concrete stain samples are on their way.
Our house in Mountain View is now being prepped for sale. That means clearing out all the clutter! Good lord, we have a lot of clutter. And to ensure that my life is not just hectic, but now reaching epic levels of insanity, I am re-doing my mom's kitchen, floors and baths in Cupertino. Just in case we decide to sell or rent the townhouse down the road. Hopefully the Mountain View house will be on the market the last week of March and someone will visit and say - I have to have that house!
